With three and a half years of tutoring experience under his belt, Shashank can aptly gauge every stratagem to further a student’s interest in a course and make learning an amicable and interactive experience. English, Mathematics and Physics are his forte and he can condense any concept into a digestible format. Besides academics, his interests lie in music (classical guitar, alt. rock and indie) and basketball and is currently building an over-engineered toboggan for his competition team in an engineering student group at the University of Alberta. At an unofficial capacity, Shae has been assisting peers with essay writing and the editing of papers for most of their university degrees, and officially worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Calgary. Using the written word to convey meaning can be tricky and is often subject to individual biases in terms of grading. Shae looks at the individual’s interests to gauge how to make writing more engaging and applicable to the student. Each piece written varies greatly, but the fundamental skills remain the same, such as outlining, development of thesis statements, or the application of literary devices.

In their free time, Shae dabbles in poetry, narrative writing, and is an avid reader of the fantasy genre. Shae graduated from the University of Calgary with an undergraduate degree majoring in Archaeology and minoring in Anthropology, and subsequently, a master’s degree in Archeology.
